Emergency medical services(EMS) are a type of emergency service dedicated to providing out-of-hospital acute medical care, transport to definitive care, and other medical transport to patients with illnesses and injuries which prevent the patient from transporting themselves.
The goal of most emergency medical services is to either provide treatment to those in need of urgent medical care, with the goal of satisfactorily treating the presenting conditions, or arranging for timely removal of the patient to the next point of definitive care.
Cloudcroft EMS is a PRC Certified BLS Transport Ambulance service. Our EMT's are all Volunteer and come from various parts of Otero County. We have 25 EMT's ranging from First Responders to Paramedic levels. Over half of our personnel are Intermediates now, so we are hoping to upgrade to an ILS service in the near future. We cover the Northern half of Otero County with two 4-wheel drive units. We also have mutual aid response agreements with Eddy County and Chaves County to our North and East.
